1. Which weekly objectives do you have prior knowledge of, and to what extent?

I have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic Three concerning the evaluation of various change models. Hamdo (2021) conducts a comparative review of various change management models. The highlighted models include ADKAR, Lewin’s Kotter’s 8-steps and McKinsey’s 7s modes of change. Lutfi et al. (2021) also examine various change management models including Lewin, ADKAR and Kotter concerning their different aspects such as value, change focus, stages, resources focus, characteristic condition and model complexity.

I also have prior knowledge of the objective concerning the challenges of implementing a specific change model. Muñoz (2022) explains that some of the challenges include a human tendency to distrust change, misalignment of leadership and culture clashes between stakeholders. I also have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic Four including the vital traits and skills of a successful change agent. Radzi et al. (2019) conduct crucial attributes of change agents such as good people skills, great communication, experts in the subject matter and have understanding of the change process.

2. Which weekly objectives do you have no prior knowledge of?

There are various weekly objectives that I lack prior knowledge of. For instance, I lack prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic Two including the role of a leader in the visioning process. Balcerzyk (2021) explains that a leader must have skills to formulate an organization’s vision and the desired state. I also lack prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic 7 including the selection of metrics for measuring the effectiveness of a change initiative.

Ghazali et al. (2022) examine the success metric for a change initiative such as succession planning. The author highlights some of the metrics to measure the success of the change initiative including bench strength, time-to-fill and talent turnover.

3. What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates? What questions or concerns do you have about this course?

There is one course-related topic I would like to discuss with the instructor and classmates, and it concerns how a leader can create a good vision for a healthcare organization to address and implement technological developments in the nursing practice. The main question would be how technological advancements can be leveraged to address societal issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
