Project change proposals allow nurses to develop and present evidence-based practice (EBP) interventions that providers and organizations can implement to improve the quality of care offered to patients in different settings (Alshahrani et al., 2021). My capstone change project was about implementing measures to reduce hospital acquired pressure Injuries (HAPIs).
The presentation was effective as the audience comprising mainly nurses from critical care areas paid keen attention to the proposal and its suggested measures to reduce and prevent the occurrence of HAPIs. The presentation of this evidence was essential in developing and implementing effective strategies like care bundle approach to improve the overall quality patient care (Pittman et al., 2019). The audience comprised nurses from the critical care unit, nurse leaders and manager and the overall organization’s C-suite team.
The feedback from the audience after the presentation was essential in determining the effectiveness of the interventions to reduce the prevalence of HAPIs in clinical care units. The audience was keen to attain better understanding of the process and associated benefits. As such, they asked an array of questions concerning the care bundle approach (Ronquillo et al., 2021).
Because of the evidence collected, it was possible to answer these questions and invite the participants to determine the effectiveness of suggested care bundle. The audience also sought to know the state of different interventions being implemented at the same time. My preceptor offered support for effective presentation and challenged me to focus more on issues that matter most to patients and their families.
This inter-professional collaboration and experience is essential as it enables one to conduct research and also share ideas with renowned (Schot et al., 2020). Therefore, through these aspects, I believe that one should enhance their competencies to meet the diverse needs from patients. The experience also means that one can develop competencies to offer quality care to patients and reduce adverse outcomes through working in teams.
